The Grand Hotel Binz as well as the Rugard Strandhotel, and Arkona Strandhotels have been honored for their Corporate Health Management. In the course of the awarding of the 6th Health Award of the Federal Association of Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (BVMW) in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the three houses received the award – they are thus among the top employers of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
The document was taken by Gino Leonhard and Rugard director Freddy Quirin of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern’s economics minister Harry Glawe, Claus Rest Madsen, president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Rostock, and Werner Röpert, chairman of the BVMW in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, in a solemn atmosphere. Gino Leonhard, the executive director of the management firm “private Palace Hotels & Resorts”, who manages all three hotels in Binz, emphasized: “Based on our corporate mission statement, we have developed corporate health management for all three houses. The health of our employees is very important to us – we promote them every day and we know that the issue of health plays an increasingly central role in the workforce. ”
Birte Löhr, the Director-general of the three hotels in Binz, looks back on the path that has been taken: “We are very grateful to our management company, the private Palace Hotels & Resorts, that they are building up our operational health management has led the lead and always stands by our side with advice and action. ” As examples of occupational health management, she said: “For example, once a week we offer our employees free swimming and the free use of saunas in our wellness areas – our employees can also work out in the gym.” In addition, the employees of the three houses are offered a professional back school twice a week – the hotels take part in the costs.
The three hotels pay particular attention to the reconciliation between work and private life. “And that pays off,” explains Birte Löhr. “The sick stand in the year 2013 was still at 4.0 percent in our company – a year later we were able to reduce this to 1.4 percent thanks to the company health management. I am particularly grateful to our human resources manager, Rachel Armstrong – our company health management has developed very well under your leadership. ”
In the Grand Hotel Binz as well as in the Rugard Strandhotel, and Arkona Strandhotel, up to 420 employees are employed in the high season.
